This year's winner is Zhou Zhou from the University of Toronto.

Saifuddin Syed is the winner of the Pierre Robillard Award of the Statistical Society of Canada. Saif's thesis, entitled "Non-reversible parallel tempering on optimized paths", was written while he was a doctoral student at the University of British Columbia working under the supervision of Alexandre Bouchard-Côté. 

The Canadian Journal of Statistics Award is awarded annually by the SSC to the author(s) of an article published in the previous year in the journal, in recognition of the outstanding quality of the paper's methodological innovation and presentation. 

Dr. Alison Gibbs from the University of Toronto is the recipient of the (inaugural) 2023 Distinguished Educator Award of the Statistical Society of Canada. This prize recognizes extensive and sustained excellence in teaching statistics by SSC members.
