The 13th Annual Canadian Statistics Student Conference (CSSC) will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in Saskatoon, at the University of Saskatchewan.
The CSSC’s primary mandate is to act as a venue for students to present their research through oral or poster presentations. Although oral presentation slots are limited, CSSC is committed to offering a poster presentation slot to any interested undergraduate or graduate students to showcase their research in statistics.
Keynote: We are pleased to announce that the keynote address will be given by Dr. Alexandre Bouchard-Côté, professor at the University of British Columbia in the Department of Statistics. Dr. Bouchard-Côté was awarded the CRM-SSC Prize in 2024. His research is primarily focused on computational Bayesian methods and applications in cancer genomics and phylogenetics.
The conference will also offer a hands-on scientific workshop led by Dr. Pingzhao Hu, a career panel consisting of professionals in academia, government, and industry, a networking lunch, and social events. More information on these events will be shared at a later date.
The CSSC prides itself on being a venue for anyone to learn about statistics. Whether you are a first-year bachelor’s student or a postdoctoral fellow, we encourage you to attend CSSC to meet students from other universities and to expand your knowledge of statistics. Registration will open in January 2025.
