The University of Calgary Biostatistics Centre (UCBC), with financial support from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Calgary, is pleased to invite you to our upcoming virtual workshop on Statistical Data Privacy, presented by Dr. Anne-Sophie Charest, Associate Professor at University Laval.

This free workshop offers a practical introduction to statistical data privacy for professionals who work with, or expect to work with, confidential or sensitive data.

Participants will gain an understanding of:

• Key goals and concepts in statistical data privacy
• Connections with related approaches in computer science
• Synthetic data generation as a privacy-preserving strategy
• Statistical methods that incorporate privacy guarantees, including differential privacy
• Hands-on exercises in R to apply both approaches
