The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position in statistics with a focus in Big Data, statistical computation and statistical machine learning. Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. in an area of statistics, to have demonstrated research strength, to have a demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with scientists in other disciplines, to exhibit a creative, innovative approach to teaching, and to have the potential to develop as an academic leader. The appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level. The position will start on 1 January 2015 or as soon after that as is practical.

The Department has 21 faculty members engaged in a wide variety of collaborative, methodological, computational and theoretical research in statistics, biostatistics and actuarial science.
