Carl James Schwarz is a Professor at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. His first research area is in the area of statistical ecology - particularly the estimation of animal abundance, survival, movement, and related parameters using capture-recapture methods. He is also interested in application of these methods for public health settings.
