Bridging the Gap between Methods Development and Implementation in Biostatistics (A Panel Discussion) (2E-I1)
Invited Paper Session | |
Organizer and Chair: Eleanor Pullenayegum (Hospital for Sick Children)
Session sponsored by the Biostatistics Section
Biostatisticians, clinical epidemiologists and a knowledge translation expert will lead a discussion on how to improve the impact of our developments in statistical methodology. Biostatisticians often complain that statistical methodology in health research falls short of best (or even adequate) practices. If we struggle to get basic methods used correctly, we should also expect to struggle to get our advances in methodology implemented in practice. This session will look at the gap between best practice and actual practice, asking where the gap is, why it exists, and how we might bridge it. You will shape the discussion! Please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/36VKG7H to fill out a short, anonymous survey before the session so we can target the discussion around the important issues.
