The SSC is again awarding travel supplements for students from Canadian universities attending the SSC 2018 Annual Meeting. These awards are funded by the Society and six of its sections: Actuarial Science, Statistical Education, Biostatistics, Survey Methods, Business and Industrial Statistics, and Probability, as well as SSC fundraising efforts.

Who is eligible:

Any full-time student at a Canadian university presenting a poster or giving a talk in a Contributed or Invited Paper Session at SSC 2018. In the case of multiple authors, only one award will be given per presentation.

Who is ineligible:

A student who has received an SSC Travel Grant within the last two years, or a student who is only attending the SSC Student Conference, or a student who is only participating in a Case Study Session. This award is to be used towards travel costs to the SSC 2018 Annual Meeting, up to a maximum of $750.

To apply for the award, please submit an abstract to the SSC 2018 Annual Meeting and indicate that you would like to apply for the travel grant. Have your supervisor send an email indicating that you are currently a full-time student to the Chair of the Student Travel Grants Committee, sscstudtrav@ssc.ca.
