Development of Telematics Risk Scores in Accordance with Regulatory Compliance
The expansion of Usage Based Insurance (UBI) market allows the integration of telematics data into risk-scoring models. However, incorporating regulatory compliance into these models is still evolving. This study suggests a framework to provide an embedded risk score through a Feedforward neural network (FNN) as an input for generalized linear models (GLMs) along with the traditional covariates, to utilize the predictive power of the telematics features and also comply with the existing regulations. We also analyze the impact of the so-called ‘discount only’ regulations from the telematics features, and reveal that it could achieve its desired goal only if the market is well segmented with favorable selection so that telematics policies can attract enough number of policyholder with low risk profiles.
Développement de scores de risques télématiques respectant la conformité réglementaire
L'expansion du marché de l'assurance basée sur l'utilisation (UBI) permet l'intégration des données télématiques dans les modèles d'évaluation des risques. Cependant, l'intégration de la conformité réglementaire dans ces modèles est encore en évolution. Cette étude propose un cadre pour fournir un score de risque intégré par le biais d'un réseau neuronal ascendant (FNN) en tant qu'entrée pour les modèles linéaires généralisés (GLM) avec les covariables traditionnelles, afin d'utiliser le pouvoir prédictif des caractéristiques télématiques et de se conformer aux réglementations en vigueur. Nous analysons également l'impact de la réglementation dite « réduction uniquement » sur les caractéristiques télématiques et révélons qu'elle ne peut atteindre son objectif que si le marché est bien segmenté avec une sélection favorable de sorte que les polices télématiques puissent attirer un nombre suffisant d'assurés présentant un profil de risque faible.
