Open Positions in Biostatistics
The Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo invites applications for one or more tenure-track or tenured positions in Biostatistics. These may be at the ranks of Assistant, Associate, or, in very special cases, Full Professor. Applicants should have a PhD in Biostatistics or a related area in the statistical or mathematical sciences, must have potential or proven ability to develop an internationally recognized research program in Biostatistics, have excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Interested candidates from any area of Biostatistics are strongly encouraged to apply. Current areas of specialization of the department in Biostatistics include the analysis of longitudinal data, event history analysis, methods for incomplete data, measurement error, hierarchical models for complex data, and the design of clinical trials. The Department enjoys strong and productive links with the new School of Public Health and Health Systems, the Propel Centre for Population Health Impact, the School of Optometry, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo. Other partnerships in research involve the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and many centers for health science research across Canada and internationally.
