The Département de mathématiques et de statistique is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Statistics.

 

Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at all three levels of the curriculum, supervise graduate students, engage in ongoing research and publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the University.

 

Requirements

•    Ph.D. in Statistics, in Biostatistics, or equivalent doctorate (candidates completing dissertations will also be considered)
•    Excellence in research is essential. An expertise in biostatistics is an important asset in  view  of  the new option in biostatistics of the Master program in Statistics. The ability to participate in institutional projects in data science or in big data is an advantage.
•    Demonstrated ability to teach
•    Proficiency in the French language

-    a cover letter
-    a curriculum vitæ
-    a statement of the research project
-    copies of up to 3 recent publications or research papers

•    Four letters of recommendation are also to be sent directly to the department chair by the referees. Without being a requirement, it would be advisable that they include comments on teaching aptitude.
