This is a role that demands a high degree of analytical ability as well as excellence in methodology. You will perform a variety of duties related to the analysis and interpretation of cancer control data including conducting statistical analyses, advising on the creation of databases in support of cancer control, and acting as a resource on statistical methodology and outcome evaluation. You will also provide assistance to clinicians/researchers undertaking statistical outcome analyses for tumour groups and programs. This role will also involve the interpretation of data using a variety of established and newly developed statistical software, drafting reports for publication, and supporting the study design for clinical trials, including randomization procedures and selection of outcome measures. The overall focus of the position is to ensure the achievement of study objectives in collaboration with clinical and research staff.
Along with an MSc in biostatistics or MSc in statistics with graduate courses that concentrated in biostatistics, you have at least two years of recent related experience including experience in analysis and interpretation of medical/health related data such as Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Health Economics and Biostatistics or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Your demonstrated judgment in analyzing and evaluating data is complemented by exceptional communication skills, and expertise with Microsoft and statistical software such as S-PLUS, SAS, and/or SPSS. You must have knowledge of scientific computer programming and database querying, and you can work to foster consensus in a team environment. The ability to instruct and educate various staff and public in the concepts of statistical analysis will ensure your success in this critical role.
