- Longitudinal data and survival data frequently arise together in biomedical studies, clinical trials and observational studies. These data are often associated. Separate analyses of longitudinal data and survival data may lead to inefficient or biased results. Joint models of longitudinal and survival data, on the other hand, incorporate all information simultaneously, and provide valid and efficient inferences. Over the last two decades, joint modeling of longitudinal and survival data has received increasing attention. A number of modeling strategies and inferential procedures have been developed in the literature. In this talk, I will give an introductory overview and discuss a broad range of issues on joint modeling.
