Senior Workforce Data Analyst

Alberta Corporate Human Resources, Edmonton. As the Senior Workforce Data Analyst within the Workforce Planning and Analytics unit, you will work with exceptional professionals within CHR and across the Government of Alberta to enable others to make informed decisions on the current and future state of the APS workforce. You will work with a team to envision the possibilities for workforce analytics and bring them to life! The advice you provide will not only support the design of policy, legislation and programs to meet or exceed human resource objectives, but it will also play a significant role in ensuring the Government of Alberta has the right people with the right skills at the right time.
 

Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Analytics, you will be responsible for shaping the delivery of government-wide workforce analytics by:
 

  • Providing expertise and advice on workforce analytics and relevant labour market and industry data considerations for effective workforce planning.
  • Leading the design, production, automation and maintenance of statistical publications and reports that address the economic, labour market and workplace information needs.
  • Developing mechanisms to enhance the understanding of and the exchange of labour market information (LMI) and inter-jurisdictional insights to support evidence-based planning and decision-making.
  • Providing guidance to CHR and various GoA lines of business on workforce planning considerations, challenges and action plans to overcome barriers.
  • Leading the development of forecasting models, scenario planning, environmental scanning and gap analysis.
  • Calling out solutions and creative ways to continually improve workforce analytic processes.
  • Coordinating responses to ad hoc data requests within CHR and/or departments.

Salary: $2,707.94 to $3,549.74 bi-weekly   ($70,677 to $92,648 annually).   Closing Date: Open until suitable candidate found.   Job ID # 1039217.
 

Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in economics, statistics or related field supplemented with a minimum of 4 years' experience in labour economics research methodology, policy/program analysis, modelling or advanced metrics reporting. A related Masters' degree is preferred. Project management and/or workforce data experience is considered a strong asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
