Opportunity

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2025, subject to final budgetary approval.

You will conduct research that complements existing strengths in the Department and will hold a Ph.D. (or evidence of near completion) in Statistics or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and the development of an ongoing research program involving undergraduate students. Familiarity with Data Science or Statistical/Machine Learning or experience teaching data science courses will be considered assets. You will teach a variety of introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in Statistics and Data Science.

You will submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching dossier (including recent teaching evaluations), statement of research interests, and sample of scholarly work.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Department Chair to provide three (3) letters of reference sent directly from referees.

Only selected candidates will be required to submit official transcripts sent directly from the institutions where you completed your degrees.
