The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Ottawa invites applications to fill at least one tenure-track position in Statistics at the Assistant or Associate professor level, starting July 1, 2015. We seek a candidate with a proven track-record in research, the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and the desire and ability to supervise graduate students. The ideal candidate will complement our strengths and contribute to one of the strategic areas of our department: biostatistics, financial mathematics or data science. Preference will be given to candidates who will eventually be able to teach in French. The conditions of employment are set by a collective agreement.

The University of Ottawa is home to the Ottawa Heart Institute, a Faculty of Medicine, and the Telfer School of Management. It is a research-intensive university, and is located strategically close to Health Canada, Statistics Canada, the Bank of Canada and other government agencies. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is part of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, and is a sponsor of the Fields Institute of Toronto and the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques of Montreal.
