Job Description


Under the supervision of the Chair of the Department of Management Sciences, the successful applicant will normally teach 24 credits per year, coordinate different courses and programs, and participate in the selection and supervision of sessional lecturers. Full-time lecturers prepare the teaching material for the courses under their responsibility and participate in the creation, evaluation and grading of the related quizzes and exams. They consult specialized books and literature to stay current in their field and are available for students on a regular basis. They may also tutor students for specific projects.

After a positive evaluation following the probationary period, the successful applicant will be offered a permanent contract.

Profile


Schooling and Experience

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (candidates with Doctorate degrees will also be considered).

  • Teaching experience at the College or University level.

Position Specific Knowledge

  • Excellent skills as an educator of specialized knowledge.

    • Excellent knowledge of the field specific software and technological environments.

    • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written French.

    • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.

Desired Skills and Aptitudes

  • Ability to teach effectively in both French and English.

  • Writing skills.

  • Interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to synthesize and analyze.

  • Ability to work in a team.

  • Ability to coordinate staff members.

Assets

  • Concrete examples of teaching material development in a field related to Statistics.

  • Knowledge of online learning tools.

  • Relevant certifications.

  • Practical experience in statistics.
