Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Biostatistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria invites applications for a Canada Research Chair in Biostatistics to commence between May 2015 and July 2015.

This position provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Statistician with a very strong, innovative research program focused on developing and applying statistical methods to understand large-scale genetic and high throughput biological data. The successful candidate will find a supportive and intellectually challenging academic environment at the University of Victoria, which is home to the Genome B.C. Proteomics Centre, genomics collaborators in the Departments of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Biology and Computer Science, and research connections with the Deeley Research Centre of the B.C. Cancer Agency Vancouver Island Centre.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline and be within 10 years of the doctorate at the time of nomination (October, 2014) and be within 10 years of the doctorate at the time of nomination (October, 2014). Successful applicants will demonstrate excellence or potential for excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching.
