Assistant Professor - Biostatistics

 

 

The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, invites applications for a position as an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics [Research Track].

Candidates must have a doctoratein statistics or biostatisticsand relevant research experience in biostatistics. Necessary qualifications for the position include evidence of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications) in Bayesian statistics and causal inference; five or more years of experience working with large-scale health-related studies; and teaching experience, particularly in advanced Biostatistics graduate courses.
 
Demonstrated ability to obtain grants for their own research or to contribute to the building of successful research projects is an essential requirement. Oral communication skills are required for collaborative projects and teaching. Excellent written communication skills are required to write grant applications and research papers. Candidates must also demonstrate team spirit, both in developing their own research and mentoring/supervising less experienced investigators.
 
Faculty members are responsible for conducting a strong research program and for supervising graduate trainees. The candidate will be expected to teach graduate level students in the Master’s and PhD programs, both in Biostatistics as well as Epidemiology.
 
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position offers funding support for a minimum of three years and an attractive benefits package.
