Bring your leadership skills to this challenging opportunity with the Ministry of Education’s Statistical Modelling and Trending Unit in the Education Statistics and Analysis Branch. You will develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and lead projects that support the ministry's decision-making.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will: 
  • provide expert statistical, analytical and data management advice 
  • coordinate the development and preparation of statistical models, reports and analysis 
  • prepare briefing materials for senior management and stakeholders 
  • lead analytical projects and provide coaching and guidance to analysts

How do I qualify?
 
Technical expertise:
  • You have knowledge and experience with statistical and economic theory and analytical techniques. 
  • You have knowledge and experience in data modeling principles, methods, and applications. 
  • You have experience with large databases. 
  • You have experience using statistical software (e.g. SAS) as well as data processing services and products. 
  • You are proficient using Microsoft products.
Analytical and research skills:
  • You can think strategically and innovatively, anticipate complex issues, and develop plans to address issues. 
  • You have demonstrated analytical, research, interpretative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to analyze statistical data and interpret results.
Project management and organizational skills:
  • You have demonstrated project management skills to plan, manage and oversee projects and analysis. 
  • You have organizational and planning skills to multi-task, meet firm deadlines and provide quality service and products.
Relationship building and communication skills:
  • You have the ability to present statistical data analysis to non-technical users clearly and effectively. 
  • You can provide advice and direction to other team members. 
  • You can prepare and deliver briefings and concise reports. 
  • You can think strategically, anticipate and absorb complex issues and work with clients and team members to develop recommendations to meet business needs. 
  • You have interpersonal, consulting, training, and presentation skills to provide advice and guidance to clients.
Knowledge of the education system:
  • You can acquire knowledge of the mandates, programs, policy directions and business trends of the Ministry of Education and the Ontario education system.
Salary Range: \$70,538 - \$103,944 per year
