The Actuarial Science Section of the Statistical Society of Canada was established in October 2012, with Gordon Willmott as the first President. The Section aims to encourage and promote interaction between the Canadian actuarial science and statistics communities on all statistical and probabilistic matters of mutual interest. The Section organizes invited and contributed sessions at the annual meeting of the Statistical Society of Canada and provides student presentation awards.
