The SSC is again awarding travel supplements for students from Canadian Universities attending the 2019 SSC meeting. These awards are funded by the Society and three of its sections: Statistical Education, Biostatistics, and Business and Industrial Statistics, as well as SSC fundraising efforts.

Who is eligible:

Any full-time student at a Canadian University presenting a poster or giving a talk in a Contributed or Invited Paper Session. In the case of multiple authors, only one award will be given per presentation.

Who is ineligible:

A student who has received an SSC Travel Award within the last two years, or a student that is only attending the SSC Student Conference, or a student who is only participating in a Case Study Session.

This award is to be used towards travel costs to the conference up to a maximum of $750.

To apply for the award, please submit an abstract to the 2019 Annual Meeting, and indicate that you would like to apply for the travel award.

Have your supervisor send an email indicating that you are currently a full-time student to the Chair of the Student Travel Grants Committee, sscstudtrav@ssc.ca by March 15, 2019.

The deadline for applications (via abstract submission) is February 11, 2019. Visit  https://ssc.ca/en/committees/student-travel-grants-committee for further details.
