Job description
In connection with the IVADO grant of the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, the Département de mathématiques et de statistique is seeking applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, in the area of Machine Learning as a field of application of Mathematics or Statistics. The candidate will have the possibility to join the MILA, the largest academic research group in the world in the area of deep learning (see the website associated with the position), and become an academic member of the IVADO data science community.
Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, engage in research and publication, and contribute to the academic life and reputation of the University.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, or in another field related to statistical or machine learning.
- An excellent publication record proving the candidate's ability to publish influential work in top-tier journals.
- Expertise in statistical or machine learning.
- Proven international recognition.
- University teaching and/or supervision experience.
- Proficiency in French within a reasonable period of time*.
