SCHEDULE: Full time tenure-track position

The Université de Sherbrooke is seeking applications for a position of Professor of Statistics. This is a full-time tenure track position in the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science.

About the Department
The Department of Mathematics in Sherbrooke offers undergraduate, Master’s and Ph.D. programs, contributes to several other programs, and organizes a substantial number of scientific activities. The research activities in the department are mostly aligned along two streams: (1) a group of researchers in pure mathematics with a focus on the study algebra and geometric structures, and (2) Statistics.

Functions
• Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Research and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students.
• Academic service.
• Scientific community service.

Requirements
• A Ph. D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Biostatistics, as well as postdoctoral experience, 
• The ability to teach in French or to achieve this ability in a reasonable period of time, 
• Excellent research skills, 
• Strong teaching skills and a keen interest in teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, 
• The ability and willingness to interact positively with other Faculty members, 
• The ability and willingness to contribute to the Department’s Statistical Consulting Service, 
• The candidate must have the ability to comply with the requirements of responsible research conduct 

The working conditions are governed by the collective agreements in force. 
Regular, full-time, tenure-track position. 
Anticipated start date: June, 1 2025.
