About the Survey Methods Section
The Survey Methods Section was created in 1991 and currently has about 140 members representing over 20 percent of the Statistical Society of Canada membership. The Section aims to promote the development and the use of statistical methods in surveys and in official statistics. Each year the Section sponsors invited and contributed sessions and a pre-conference workshop at the Annual Meeting of the Society. Since 1995, the Section has published Proceedings containing the survey methods papers, both contributed and invited, presented at the Annual Meetings of the Society. Since 2002, the Section has also sponsored a Case Study for the Annual Meetings of the Society.
