The Statistical Society of Canada commissioned this book for the 2013 International Year of Statistics (http://www.statistics2013.org/). The book was published in 2014 by Chapman & Hall/CRC. Its objective was to present to a general readership some of the ways in which statistics is used, while highlighting important contributions that Canadian statisticians are making to science, technology, business, and government, among others.
